The following proceedures ensure we maintain quality of product.

1. Quarrying and block selection.
2. Storing of block to ensure prevention of frost penetration.
3. Primary Sawing into "scants" of desired thickness.
4. Reject stones with cracks or fissures likely to cause defect.
5. Secondary saw stones to desired finished sizes.
6. Inspect and finish by hand.
7. Measure and stack on pallets ready for delivery.

Requires the surface to be sanded by hand at stage 6. This process removes the marks which are sometimes left by circular saws.

Finishes are ground with a series of finer grits until even fine scratches have been eliminated from the surface.
